Former Maryland Gov. Ehrlich on Saturday opened his Montgomery County campaign headquarters in Rockville. Ehrlich, a Republican, and his running mate, Former Secretary of State Mary Kane, appeared at the event before about 350 supporters, according to an Ehrlich spokesperson. Ehrlich, who served as Maryland's governor from 2003 to 2007, hopes to unseat the incumbent, Democrat Martin O'Malley. O'Malley defeated Ehrlich in the 2006 gubernatorial election. Ehrlich announced his campaign last April. The 2010 vote is scheduled for Nov. 2. - Markham Heid
