The District Department of Transportation on Tuesday announced locations for the Capital Bikeshare program’s 114 stations.

The stations are centered downtown but extend as far out as Tenleytown in Northwest and Fort Dupont Park in Southeast.
Several will be installed very near Metro stations, including Metro Center, Smithsonian, Eastern Market, Anacostia, Foggy Bottom-GWU, Navy Yard and Union Station.

The DDOT program will give residents access to about 1,000 bicycles this fall — an expansion of the 10-station, 100-bike program set up in 2008.

The District agency is also teaming up with Arlington County to offer bikes in both jurisdictions.
