The official word is out now and the 2011 Indy Racing League Baltimore Gran Prix on September 4^th and the race will be aired on Versus.

The network is the home to the vast majority of IRL races and has done a fine job of coverage.  A handful of races air on ABC and this year they will be the   St. Petersburg Gran Prix, the Indianapolis 500, Milwaukee, and the New Hampshire races.

So it will be the the first ever IRL Baltimore Gran Prix seen nationally on Versus.

It should be a become an instant hit on the IRL series with the top drivers who will love this new city course. 

Speaking of a hit the Saturday September 3^rd American LeMans Series will bring the some of the coolest cars in racing to Baltimore with Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Panoz, Peugeot, Porsche and Saleen are among the marques that have tasted victory in the Series, as have teams the caliber of Audi Sport, Corvette Racing, Penske Racing, Prodrive, Rahal- Letterman and Risi Competizione.  

The American LeMans Series race which will be a great race that I think over time might just be the fans favorite. ABC will air a two hour special on the race on Sunday September 11^th.
