Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker said "closing these cases" is a priority as the suburb recorded its 10th homicide in 10 days.

Since the spike in homicides began on New Year's Day, only one arrest has been made. That was a shooting in the Seat Pleasant area.

The county executive, while being interviewed on WTOP’s “Ask the County Executive” program Tuesday, said investigations into the crimes  “are going well,” and he expects news of arrests in several cases over the next few weeks.

A man stabbed in Lewisdale on Monday night became the county's latest homicide.

“We’re going to get a handle on this,” he said.
