Montgomery County police are asking for help finding the identity of a man killed by a freight train while jogging in Kensington Sunday.

The man was found just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday southeast of the Kensington MARC station, said Montgomery County Police Capt. Paul Starks. A train crew reported seeing the body as the train passed through the area at 1:17 p.m. The last train to travel on the CSX tracks had come through about 9:30 a.m., Starks said.

The man was white with the build of an experienced runner, weighing 122 pounds at 5-foot-8-inches, the captain said. He appears to have been in his 30s, with thinning, close-cropped dark hair. He was wearing dark blue shorts and had a gray T-shirt that may have been wrapped around his hand. He also wore white Avia running shoes with gray and orange accents.

Police ask anyone with information to call the county police’s Major Crimes Division: 240-773-5070.
