PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) — Apple Inc. has dropped a big hint about its plans for a large-scale data center in Central Oregon.

The Bend Bulletin reports that ( a master plan submitted to the city of Prineville shows two buildings with more than 500,000 square feet of what are described as "data halls."

Apple hasn't said when it might start construction.

Apple is already building a small, 10,000-square-foot data center on its Prineville property, but city officials have been expecting a bigger development.

The report about Apple follows shortly after news that Facebook expects to build additional data storage facilities across the road in Prineville.
