Six heat-related deaths have now been reported in Maryland in 2010, matching the number for all of last year.

The most recent confirmed death is an adult between the ages of 19 and 64 from Montgomery County, the AP reported.

State health officials say the victim died in May, had no serious underlying health problems and was found outside, but was not homeless.

Virginia and D.C. have also surpassed last year’s totals for heat-related deaths. Three deaths have been recorded in Virginia and one death has been reported in D.C. this year.
