The man who was found dead in his Anne Arundel County home Sunday was fatally shot, police officials said Tuesday, and evidence links his son to his death.

The medical examiner's office ruled 50-year-old Darius Keenan Sr.'s died from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was found dead Sunday morning at his residence in the 400 block of Harlem Avenue in Pasadena.

Keenan's vehicle was missing from his home Sunday, and it was found later that day in Charlotte, N.C., according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The victim's son, 26-year-old Darius Keenan Jr., was operating the vehicle and was charged with numerous traffic violations in North Carolina.

Keenan Jr. is being held in Charlotte for the traffic charges and on a detainer on an auto theft charge from Anne Arundel County. The county's State's Attorney's Office wants him to be extradited.

Detectives have recovered evidence that connects Keenan Jr. to his father's death, officials said. An investigation into the homicide is continuing.
