An angry Florida man yelled at Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla., for not debating his Democratic primary opponent in the Sunshine State's Senate race.
Murphy previously said he would not debate Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., and was challenged at a recent event that reportedly took place last week.
"You are running against Alan Grayson, and since you didn't mentioned his name once, I was wondering what are you afraid of?" a man said on video captured by the NTK Network. "Why won't you debate him? Why won't you take questions about your campaign? Thank you."
Murphy answered by saying he did not want to smear his opponent's record and added, "There's plenty to learn about Congressman Grayson if you'd like to look at the ethics investigation, 1,000-page report..."
"Smear! Mud!" shouted the questioner, interrupting Murphy. "You're smearing. As a child of divorce, you have the nerve to talk about his divorce? Answer my question."
The angry man was then approached by someone who implored him to "be respectful, don't act like a child." Murphy then quickly thanked the room and headed for the exit.
The man continued shouting and left the venue yelling, "This is bullsh—. The meeting is bullsh—."
If Murphy defeats Grayson, he will likely face incumbent GOP Sen. Marco Rubio. The Florida Senate race could become a determinative factor in the Republicans' ability to keep their majority in the U.S. Senate.
