Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be partly responsible for whatever agreement comes from the nuclear negotiations between six world powers and Tehran, NBC News' Andrea Mitchell said Thursday.

"[Clinton's] going to have to own this politically — the pros and cons of this deal — if it comes together," she said.

Secretary of State John Kerry is in Vienna negotiating a possible deal with Iran over its nuclear ambitions. His involvement in the process comes only after Clinton started the ball rolling when she was head of the State Department.

Because of Clinton's past involvement in negotiating Iran's nuclear program, she will therefore be partly responsibly for whatever deal comes out of talks between the Obama White House and Tehran, Mitchell said.
