OSCEOLA, Ark. (AP) — An American Greetings plan in Osceola is adding 125 workers as part of an expansion that will allow customers to design their own cards online.
Great River Economic Development Foundation director Clif Chitwood said Wednesday that the company expects to hire the workers over the next six months. The jobs will pay between $16 and $20 per hour.
Arkansas Business reports (http://is.gd/aiq4UT ) that American Greetings is to get $1.25 million from Mississippi County Planning & Development to help pay to upgrade the factory. The payment still needs to be approved by the Mississippi County Quorum Court, which next meets on Aug. 28. The money is from a half-cent sales tax set aside for economic development.
