Because his oddball ascent to Democratic U.S. Senate candidate clearly has "movie deal" all over it, Alvin Greene has chosen who he'd like to play him: actor Denzel Washington.
The mystery South Carolina candidate told the New York Times he already has been contacted by a New York publishing agent and a California screenwriter, and has received other calls from around the world.
Greene was thrown into the national spotlight a month ago after winning the primary for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination. He will compete in November for a seat against current Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., and Green Party front-runner Tom Clements.
