Lace ‘em up, Washingtonians.

A new street race is coming to Alexandria later this summer, and local officials have planned a kickoff rally for July 21 during which they will lay out the race’s finalized route.

Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille, Va. Del. Dave Englin and race organizer Steve Nearman are scheduled to appear at City Hall’s Market Square at noon, and will introduce the public to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon.

The marathon will stretch from Mount Vernon to the National Harbor, and is scheduled to begin Sept. 19 at 7:30 a.m.
