Democratic Sen. Al Franken apologized Wednesday for quipping that the pre-season injury of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Terry Bridgewater is like finding out that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is "having an affair" with disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner.
The comment was first reported by New York Times correspondent Mark Leibovich, who overheard the former Saturday Night Live writer and actor at the Minnesota State Fair, according to Politico.
"Al Franken upon learning of Vikes QB Teddy Bridgewater's knee injury: 'Its llike finding out Hillary's having an affair with Anthony Weiner,'" Leibovich tweeted Wednesday afternoon.
