Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Wednesday that the Justice Department is examining "all the information" surrounding two videos that Republicans say are evidence that Planned Parenthood may be illegally selling fetal remains for profit.

"I'm aware of those matters generally from the media and some inquiries that have been made to the Department of Justice," Lynch said. "And at this point, we are going to review all the information and determine what steps we need to take."

The videos were created by an anti-abortion group, the Center for Medical Progress, which says they show Planned Parenthood may be breaking the law by potentially profiting from the sale of abortion remains. The videos may not prove that is happening, though they do show officials seeming to haggle over what price to ask for in exchange for fetal organs.

But Lynch's comments don't necessarily mean she's about to take action against Planned Parenthood. Lynch is also being lobbied by Democrats to investigate the group that created the videos. On Tuesday, four House Democrats urged Lynch not to investigate Planned Parenthood, and instead to take a closer look at the Center for Medical Progress.

"We are writing to request that you investigate whether any laws were broken by individuals who participated in an elaborate, multi-year scheme to impersonate corporate officials from a fake biologics company, secretly filmed video of a Planned Parenthood physician in California, and make public portions of the video without her consent," they wrote.

Democrats say the group's effort to secretly film Planned Parenthood officials may have resulted in the violation of federal laws when they set up a fake company, and recorded people without their knowledge. The center was founded by David Daleiden.

"For all of these reasons, we request that you initiate an investigation to determine whether Mr. Daleiden, his organization, or anyone else who participated in, aided, or encouraged these deceptive activities may have violated federal or state laws," the Democrats wrote.

Daleiden responded by saying Planned Parenthood is trying to get Democrats to "shut down free speech."

"Planned Parenthood and their political allies know our investigation has revealed the truth about the gruesome and horrific practices of partial-birth abortions and selling baby parts taking place throughout their organization," he said. "They will attack me and my organization all day long, but that does not change the facts about what our investigation has uncovered and what the American people now know — that Planned Parenthood is engaged in an enterprise-wide operation that traffics and sells baby body parts."
