DALLAS (AP) — Convenience-store giant 7-Eleven Inc. said Monday that it bought 74 operating stores, mostly in West Virginia, and two land parcels from a licensee.

Financial terms of the deal with Prima Marketing LLC were not disclosed.

Prima Marketing's stores are in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

7-Eleven said it extended job offers to about 700 store personnel and district managers, contingent on pre-employment screening. The chain said it also planned to offer jobs to some non-store employees.

Chief Financial Officer Stan Reynolds said the deal could eventually provide opportunities to people who want to operate a 7-Eleven franchise.

Dallas-based 7-Eleven currently has 21 stores in West Virginia, 172 in Pennsylvania and 10 in Ohio. It plans to open at least 630 new stores this year. It has 9,400 in North America.
