ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — Funeral services are scheduled for the second of two teens killed in a train derailment in Maryland's Ellicott City.
Funeral services for Rose Louese Mayr are planned for Saturday at Bethany United Methodist Church in Ellicott City. A memorial Mass for Mayr's friend, Elizabeth Conway Nass, who also died in the derailment, were held Friday.
Both women were 19 years old and graduates of Mt. Hebron High School in Ellicott City. Mayr was a nursing student at the University of Delaware, and her family says memorial contributions can be made to the Howard Hospital Foundation.
Authorities say the two girls were killed earlier this week while sitting on one side of a train bridge. They were buried in coal when the train derailed. An investigation into the derailment is ongoing.
