A second young girl has died after a Hyattsville house fire that occurred last week.

Prince George's County fire and emergency services said Tuesday that 13-year-old Kelli Hernandez has died from injuries suffered in the Jan. 19 blaze. Her sister, 9-year-old Kimberly Hernandez, died the day of the fire and their two other sisters, ages 4 and 13, were also hurt.

The blaze broke out at the family's home on the 4700 block of 40th Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. Fire officials have said the blaze was accidental, but will not provide further details until autopsies are conducted.

The fire department said Kelli was rescued by firefighters from her second-floor bedroom. She was first taken to the Prince George's Hospital Center, then to a Baltimore shock trauma center, where she died.
