A second person has been arrested in connection with the theft of several bronze sculptures from a Bethesda museum.

Montgomery County police say 27-year-old Daniel Conticchio, of the 4500 block of Ninth Street NW Washington, stole five sculptures and damaged two others at the Ratner Museum, then sold them at Montgomery Scrap and Recycling in Rockville for $150.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Wednesday, and detectives found him sleeping in his vehicle in Bethesda on Thursday afternoon. He has been charged in the thefts and with possessing drug paraphernalia. Police said 22-year-old Jessica Rivas was also in the vehicle, and was with Conticchio when he sold the sculptures as scrap metal.

Rivas was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft charges against her are pending, police said.

The works were valued at about $90,000.
