A man was killed early Saturday in a fire at a Temple Hills home.

The blaze broke out at a 2-story single-family home on the 2700 block of Fairlawn Street at about 5:30 a.m., according to acting Maj. Paul Cruz of Prince George's County fire and emergency services.

Firefighters removed an adult man from the home, Cruz said. The man was taken to United Community Medical Center in critical condition, and died at the hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
