Stephen G. Smith



Stephen G. Smith, editor of The Washington Examiner since February 2007, is the only journalist to hold senior-level editing positions at all three American news magazines. He was editor of U.S. News & World Report, executive editor of Newsweek, and Nation editor of Time. He was also editor of National Journal, a weekly devoted to government and politics, and founding editor of Civilization, which in 1996 won a National Magazine Award for General Excellence. Smith also worked as Washington bureau chief for the Houston Chronicle, as Washington news editor for Knight Ridder Newspapers, and as an editor and reporter for the Boston Globe and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He grew up in New York City and graduated from Penn.

Jennifer is the 2009 winner of the John Aubuchon Freedom of Information Award from Capitolbeat and the 2009 winner of the Open Doors Award given by the Fort Worth Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She previously served as government editor of The (Nashville) Tennessean newspaper, deputy editor of the news website Texas Watchdog, and data editor for The Washington Examiner. She is the former president of the Middle Tennessee and Houston professional chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists and former chairman of its committee on digital media.

Joe joins MediaDC from Eagle Publishing where he architected the highly successful revenue strategy for one of the nation’s most influential right of center web sites, RedState.

A former publishing entrepreneur, Nick has more then 2 decades of media and marketing experience in Washington, DC, with 14 years experience at The Weekly Standard. He manages a talented team of professionals, and oversees strategic partnerships, corporate & advocacy sales initiatives, events and advertising revenue for all MediaDC brands. A native Washingtonian, Nick graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and appeared on the Jeopardy! "Tournament of Champions" in 2007. He lives in Washington with his wife and two children.

Lou Ann Sabatier

Ms. Sabatier has thirty years of experience in publishing. She has been the Managing Director for an international economic magazine and Associate Publisher for a national political opinion magazine. For over ten years, she also served as a literary agent, packaging and selling non-fiction works on politics, economics and cultural criticism. For the past sixteen years Sabatier was principal of Sabatier Consulting where she led teams consulting with consumer, business, non-profit, associations and corporations in the US and worldwide. Former clients include a list as diverse as World Vision/Save the Children, the International Monetary Fund, the OECD, the Federal Reserve Bank, National Geographic, American Marketing Association, the U.S. Marines, and the Chronicle of Higher Education.

With Clarity Media Group since it's inception in 2004, Steve is a newspaper industry veteran having started with Knight-Ridder Newspapers, Inc. as Director of Auditing in 1979. Prior to that he was a CPA in the Miami office of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, CPAs. His career has included work in the financial, distribution, news, advertising and digital disciplines, and has included assignments at the Long Beach Press-Telegram, the Philadephila Inquirer, The Seattle Times, The Denver Post and the San Francisco Examiner. Since 2012 he has had broad operational responsibilities at the Washington Examiner.
